THe alliteration in roger the dog catches my eye for example, flops flat and digs down deep. Also it has lots of couplets for example he hogs the fire, he bakes his head, as if it were a loaf of bread.

Roger the dog has more meaning because it has a funny meaning to it. It is a dog who lays in cowclap and is lazy and will only eat his dinner.

ReplyDeleteI can make a connection to Roger the Dog because Roger is the exact opposite of my dog, Holly. Holly is joyful, energetic and somewhat hyper. Roger is lazy, dull and saves his energy for eating.
The final reason I liked Roger the Dog is because it had great imagery. When reading it I can just imagine a fat dog sitting by the fire letting his brain become mush. Also, Roger the Dog used similies and metaphors throughout the entire poem. For example, " He's just a sack of snoring dog." and "As if it were a loaf of bread. I have chosen The falling star because of it's exquisite imagery and it's specific detail. It tells you something that is very useful in life but, it's not on the paper and this is why I picked The Falling Star. The important piece is that there is more than the eye can see. There is more on the paper than you think. The Falling Star is sorta like a riddle. It makes you think.
