Dear students,
Each new year, two of my mentors challenge teachers to find their One Little Word (OLW). The OLW is one word that will represent, or symbolize, the year ahead. The word should be personal and thoughtful. My mentors spend weeks thinking about their OLW, making sure they select a word that will really guide them.
I have thought a great deal about my OLW. For 2020, I selected "trust" as my One Little Word. I selected "trust" because I don't always trust God's plan and try to make my own way. I need this word to remind me to trust not only His plan for me but also to trust in the strengths and talents He has blessed me with, rather than worry about the future. Trust can apply to my life in so many ways - through friends, work, my students, my family, myself, and ultimately, God's plan for me. I will use this word to guide me through the days of 2019.

The word that I will be using is love. I love my sister because they make me happy. I will love my brother because he also makes me happy. I will love my parents because they are the ones who took care of of before I even started school. I love my family because they show love back to me. I love my family.
ReplyDeleteMy one little word is quiet because I want to be more quiet when the teacher is speaking. Also I want to be quiet because I want to be more quiet in the classroom so I can focus. Also my family says I yell loud. My other word is better I want to get better at school work. I also want to get better at sports. Those are two little words for #2020**

ReplyDeleteMy one little word for this year is baby steps. I will take baby steps when I try new things instead of rushing. I will also use them when things don't go my way. Another word that I will use this year is leadership. I will use leadership when somebody is not following directions.

My OLW word is Kindness.
ReplyDeleteI need to work on showing Kindness to my peers and family. For example, sometimes my little sister Catherine, Will hide my things, play with things I don’t want her to play with, and not leave me alone when I ask her. Sometimes I get really mad and accidentally hurt her. But in the end we make up and end up playing together. It will probably help me alot in 2020.

The word I chose was kindness. I chose this word because I think I need to be more kind to my brothers. I can use kindness by playing with my brothers. Another reason is that I can share with them. One more is getting along with my brothers.

This month I will try to show joy. I want to show joy because joy is good for people who are sad.
ReplyDeleteI think I should give homeless people food because it would make me feel good. Also they will joyful. So I will try to show joy this month.
My word would be anyway because I can help my mom do the dishes even if I don’t want to, I will do it anyway. Another reason I chose anyway is when my sister or brother gets mad at me I will not get mad at her. When my brother tells me not to do something even if I still want to do it I will not do it anyway.

My one little word would be go. I can help people out. I can give people food, I can help people if they need it. I can also go out and play stuff like cricket. I can also open the door for someone. I can give people candy. Dowden #2020

ReplyDeleteI chose the word trust. I want to do this year by showing my parents, family, and friends that they can trust me and that I can be mature and helpful. I also chose the word clean because I want to be clean and organized. This will also help prove that I can be trusted.

My one little word is tryt.I choose try besause I think it is really important to always try your best in everything you do.When you try your best it makes you way better, Rather then just not trying at all.Also trying harder makes you alot better at what your doing.These reasons are why I always want to try my best.

ReplyDeleteMy one word is go. I can go and help the people in need. I can also go and play more sports. And go wash the dishes. Finally i can go and help my mom with errands.Thomas
ReplyDeleteI think my word is creative because I love art and science. I like making things, doing fun experiments to make things bubble or explode. I love creating new designs for pocket holders, bags, and purses. My favorite two things to work with is clay or thick construction paper because with clay you can shape hard things easily and with thick paper you can have firm creases. There are so many things you could possibly make with paper. For example, Boxes, purses, bags, and way more I can think of.

The one word I chose was Create. I chose create because I think I need to create more drawings, paintings, necklaces, etc. I also have an art desk which can help me out with this. I also chose create because I can create stuff and then give them to other people. Its doing a good deed at the same time as having fun. - Sarah

ReplyDeleteThe words I chose were create and explore. I think these are good words for me in 2020 because, I think that I need to take time and explore the things around me. I also think I already do this one, create, but I would like to it more. I think to create means that you come up with ideas and make them happen. I would love to be more like this. To explore means to look around you and notice things. That is why I would want to live like this.

If I could choose a little word I would choose motivate. I would choose motivate because I want to motivate myself to run around my block every day after school. I want to motivate myself to run because I want to get more fit. Another word be Kind. I choose kind because I want to be more kind to my mom because she does so much for my family.These are my little words that I could use in my life.
ReplyDeleteMy OLW for 2020 is JOY. I picked this word because I can be nicer to others by spreading joy. I can also use my word by not getting into so many fights with my brothers (this happens a lot). My other word is CHALLENGE. I wanted this one because I can challenge myself to try new things in 2020. This is also a good word because I can be a better person by challenging myself.

My word is belive and confidence, because I need to belive in myself to get to my goals. Examples, when it comes to basketball I can belive in myself to score a goal. Or in soccer I can be confident while I’m guarding someone or even dribbling the soccer ball up the field. I can be confident and belive while I'm dancing in front of a lot of people. Those are just some reasons

My one word would be love. I can work on showing love by helping my mom cook.I can also show love by helping my family when someone is sick.I can also show love with my friends by playing with them .Also I can say nice things to them.

I choose kindness as something I would want to do better. For example, when my mom gets home from a long day at work I should say hi and talk to her and clean up so she does not have to do it. And also I would like to have more kindness towards my bother even when he is annoying and does things he shouldn't it would also help resolve fights if one of us had kindness .and I think it would make me a better person and have even better relationships with my brother and parents and everyone around me.

I would choose respect.I chose this word because I want to show more respect to my sisters.They always get on my nerves, so I want to show respect to them even when they're annoying.Also when they’re being nosey I’m going to show respect and not be nosey.Like getting into their room when they are not home.

Trust I think trust means if your friend gives you a dog for a week while they are out of town. they will have to trust you with there dog to feed it and give it water.I am going to use this word for the year so if somebody ask me to do something, they can trust me.

My OLW is best because I think in 2019 I was not the best I could be. This year I will try to be the best I can be . I will see how I improve this year as a person . This year to try and be the best I can be. I will try to do things that I don't do more often I think I can do it . That is my one little word

I want to work on being more organized. By organizing my school supplies, my room, my desk, my bag, and my playroom. I want to work on cleaning my stuff up. By cleaning my room up and put all of my stuff up in the right place. AnnaBaria
