In writing, we learned to improve our writing by presenting counter arguments in our essays. Today, I will give you a thesis statement for which you must write a counter argument paragraph. Remember a counter argument has the following structure:
Although (thesis statement), some may argue that (counter argument). For example,(evidence for counter argument). However, (evidence for your thesis). Closing sentence restating your thesis.
Although I love ice cream, some may argue that cake is better. For example, cake is used for celebrations such as birthdays, weddings, and baby showers. However, one can have ice cream cake or cake batter ice cream for any occasion. I love ice cream because it is the most wonderful, versatile treat!
Now, it is your turn. Write a counter argument paragraph for the following thesis statement:
Children should be able to have a T.V. in their room.

Even tho I like hunting others might disagree. They might say that it is sad to kill an animal. But I would say there is a lot of animals in the world. They might say well it is bad to kill an animal. I might say well have you ever had bacoon? They probably would say yes. Then I would say that would come from a pig.

Some may argue that children shouldn’t have a TV in there room but i would say i can have a time limit at night. Also some may argue that we might sneak on it and watch all night but i would say if we fell asleep it's pretty hard to wake up in the middle of the night because you'll forget. kids should have a tv in there room. Thomas
ReplyDeleteChildren should have a t.v. in there room, some may argue t.v will distract you from your homework. For example if you stay up to late on your t.v. you will have to do homework at like 10:00! Also If your on your t.v. late at night your loose track of time and stay up way late. However if you finish your homework you can watch t.v.. Furthermore, if a family member is hogging the t.v. you can go in your room. I think kids deserve a t.v. in there room. - Sarah

ReplyDeleteAlthough children should be able to have a TV in their room. Some may argue that you can’t have a TV in their rooms. For example, children can watch a goofy show the parents don’t care about. However, parents don’t want you to watch an appropriate show for like teenagers. For example, a show like James Bond. You would be able to maybe watch it with your parents, but not by yourself.

I think kids should watch Tv every Of course I get tired of Tv sometimes so I just turn it of but usually if I find a good show I can't stop.Some may argue, Tv will rot your brain. But I think a little Tv everyday won't hurt you. -Avery

ReplyDeleteAlthough watching tv is fun . Some may argue that is bad to have one in your room . I have a tv and I don't spend all my time on it. However, some may use a lot of time on it you can set a limit . If that is not enough you can lock it . So that is why I think you can give your child a TV.
