As a voracious reader, I love discussing books with other lovers of literature. I have joined book clubs, emailed with friends, and sat down over many meals where the conversation turned to what everyone was reading. Books are a part of my life.
I have noticed I have certain friends who never fail to disappoint me with their EXCELLENT recommendations. When recommending a book to me, they tell me what the book is about without giving too much away.
I would like for you to write a book recommendation about a fiction book you love! Be sure to include the book title, characters, setting, and the plot (problem/action). Assume I have not read the book and be sure to edit your work.
Here is my recommendation:

Here is my recommendation:
Ida B is about a young girl who lives with her mom and dad on a farm. She is home schooled after an unpleasant experience in kindergarten. She lives a happy life, using her imagination to play on the farm and with her pets. Sadly, her mother gets cancer and Ida B's life is turned upside down. She is heart-broken! She must return to school, where she makes a decision to change into a person with a cold, hard heart. You will love this book is you like character-driven stories and realistic fiction.

I would recommend The Report Card by Andrew Clements. This book is about a girl [Nora] who tries to get bad grades. I think this book is really good. Especially for people who like stories about school. I think you will like it too!

I would recommend the book Hatchet.It’s about a boy named Brian who is 13 year old boy whose parents are divorced. He goes on a plane with a pilot,and the pilot has a heart attack. So the plane crashes in the Canadian woods. He learns how to make fires,and to fight animals,and to get his own food in the wild. I would recommend it to people who like survival book.I also recommend this to people who like brave kids.Also the author is a great author who makes survival books.His name is Gary Paulsen. Hank
ReplyDeleteMy favorite book is called Diary of a Wimpy Kid by Jeff Kinney. This book is about a boy named Greg Heffley's life. Also about how he does not like his life. The main character is Greg. His family is crazy,weird,mean,and so much more.He has an older brother named Rodrick and a younger brother named Manny.Greg does not like his brother Manny because he blames everything on him and he doesn't like Rodrick because he is boring.

My favorite is called Diary of Wimpy by Jeff Kinney.It is about a family who is wired.The main character is Greg Heffley . He has two brothers named Rodrick and Manny.Greg is not athletic and loves video games.

I would recommend Bone by Jeff Smith. Bone is about these cousins who got chased out of Boneville. They got separated when a swarm of locusts split them up. Fone bone went to sleep when these rat creatures tried to eat him a dragon came and saved Fone bone. The next day he found someone named Thorn. Thorn helped Fone bone find his way home. He found his cousins in BarrelHaven then all the rat creatures were racing in the cow race with gran’ma Ben. I recommend this book because it is funny.

I recomend the series The Kicks by Alex Morgan.The the Kicks is about a girl named Devin.Devin and her friends Jessie,Emma,Zoie,and Frida love soccer. All of them are on the Kentville kangaroos aka the kicks .In one of the books called Sabotage Season, Jamie, a girl from another team, called the rams completley sabotage them by making a lot of weird stuff happen.Another book is called Shaken up It is where Devin experienced her first earthquake and it really threw her off guard.I think this book would be a good book for you if you love sports.

Hatchet by Gary Paulsen is a book about a boy named Brian who is 13.Hatchet starts off with Brian being in a plane crash that lands in the Northern Canadian woods.Brain is put to the test when it comes to survival.In Hatchet Brian has to make tools out of what he has,which isn’t very much.Hatchet is a good book if you like survival stories.

I would recommend the book Hatchet by Gary Paulson. Hatchet is about a boy named Brian. He is going to see his dad in Canada. While he is flying, the pilot starts acting weird. Brian finds out that he is having a heart attack. He thinks the pilot is dead. He has to fly the plane on his own. He ends up crashing. He has to live on his own, and he does not know where he is. He has to find food, get water and build a shelter. I recommend Hatchet because it is exciting, and you don’t know what is going to happen next. I would recommend Hatchet.

ReplyDeleteMy favorite book is called Just Jaime by Terri Libenson. The main character in this book is named Jaime. This book takes place at the school, and it's about her best friend Maya and she dumps jaime, and she tells her that they can't be friends anymore. Jaime ends up making a ton of new friends that day. Then Maya also gets kicked out of the group, and Maya becomes friends with Jaime again.

I recommend Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl.It is about a little boy whose name is Charlie.He is a poor boy who always passes the chocolate factory(Willy Wonka's factory.) and is always wanting to go inside the mysterious factory because no one ever goes in and no one goes out.So Willy Wonka puts 5 golden tickets in candy bars and Charlie gets one.Along Charlie there are 4 other people Augustus Gloop,Mike Teavee,Violet Bulgavarg and Veruca Salt this book is very good and very funny.

A good book I have is called The Next Great Paulie Fink By Ali Benjamin.The main characters are Cathline and the mysterious Paulie Fink.He does not really have the word mysterious isn't really in his name.But it is this year HE DISAPPEARED.This book takes place at the school.They as in the class is trying to find out were Paulie Fink is ...and what he is doing.They found his backpack and inside the backpack there was a shirt.Everyone in class wore it except Cathline.

A book I enjoy is Hilde Cracks the Case, My Dog is a Hero! By Hilde Lysiak.
ReplyDeleteIt is about a girl named Hilde who loves to solve mysteries with her sister Izzy. In this story the bake-off bonanza is starting soon and everyone is making their baked goods. Mrs. Linsey has made her first prize cherry pie. Her neighbor Mr. John has made his first prize cheesecake.
One day Mrs. Linsey set her pie out on the window to cool and the next thing she knew her pie was gone! Mrs. Linsey accused Mr. John of stealing her pie to win the bake-off bonanza! Mr.John said off course not! But all the sudden all his eggs were broken in the chicken coop it was a mess! If you like Non-fiction books this is for you.
I recommend The way of the warrior kid by jocko willink. I think it is a great book. It is about a wimpy boy that cant do one push up his uncle comes who is a navy seal and turns into a strong fit man and teaches him how to swim too. Its a long journey for Marc but in the end he thanks his uncle. It was hard work for marc getting up early in the morning and working out for 2 hours then going to school. Its a great book for people that need a example of motivation. I highly recommend this book.

I recommend hatchet by Gary paulsen.it's about a boy named Brian who is 13.And his parents just divorced.He was on his way to his dads and the pilot has a heart attack so he gets in a crash and is stuck in the woods alone, and has to figure out how to stay alive. Until his parents come and find him. thomas
ReplyDeleteI recommend the book Judy Moody Goes To College. This book is about a girl who struggles in math and needs a tutor. Her tutor ends up being a college student. Judy learns from her tutor but also gets transformed into a college kid at the same time. This causes her to lose a lot of her friends. I think you would like this book if you like fiction or realistic fiction books.

I recommend the book Fashion Academy by Sheryl Berk. This book probably isn't the best recommendation for boys but thats okay. Fashion Academy is all about how Mickey(not the mouse) travels to Europe for a fashion competition! Mickey has a very creative personality. Everyday Mickey puts hair chalk in her hair to match her outfit. Mickey's best friend C.J. partners up with her because who doesn't want to go to Europe. If you like fashion books you should read this book.

I recommend a book called Pubic School Superhero by James Patterson. This book is about a kid named Kenny who kind of imagines himself as a superhero named Stanlezz Steal. Kenny has problems along the way including that his grandma takes care of him and not his mom and dad, so at his school people call him grandma’s boy. He has to give a big, long speech about how all the kids at his school want one of their old principal, Dr. Yetty, and along the way he slowly realizes that he too, wants Dr. Yetty back. If you like fiction/action books you would love this book.

I recommend the book The Law Of Finders Keepers By Sheila Turnage. I think this is a good book because I read Three Times Lucky. That is also by Sheila Turnage which is good too. So when I read that, it made me want to read her books. But when I found out there was a series, I wanted to read those books even more! Sheila Turnage is a good author and has written many good books. I hope you like her series too! Goodbye. -Dino
ReplyDeleteI recommend Charlotte's Web by E B White . It is about a pig named Wilbur who might get killed. Then a spider named Charlotte helps him. Soon people all over are talking about the pig . The people that take care of him go to the fair for biggest pig . You should read this book if you like animal fiction .

A book that I would recommend is the book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory because it is very well written. I love this book because there is a lot of crazy things that happen. Like one of the golden ticket finders gets sucked up a chocolate tube. There is also a lot of drama like one of the girls named Veruca salt that whined until she got her father to get his whole factory to open chocolate bars until they found a golden ticket. I really recommend this book if you like candy and drama. Lowell
ReplyDeleteI recommend this book colled Weirdo.It is a book about a kid name Weir and his last name is Do. Every person in his family is weird, but it does not bother him to get laughed at.He actually likes to be different.I hope you like this book if you read it.

I would recommend the book Derek Jeter because it is about a kid that never gives up. He keeps on trying and he never gives up. He always tries to beat his dad in a game of pig, but his dad always wins. He keeps on trying, and I like that he always tries. You should read this book if you like sports books.

I recommend Guts by Raina Telgemeier . I think the book is cool because it’s a true story. All of her books are.I really love Guts ! This book is about Raina having a stomach bug, and she misses school and gives it to everyone in her family.I recommend this book to people who like Smile.

I recommend the book Matilda by Roald Dahl. Matilda is about a young girl named Matilda how is very bright, but her parents do not care. All they want to do is watch the telly, and they do not care about Matilda. Matilda has a wonderful teacher named Miss. Honey. Miss.Honey is very fond of Matilda. Also Matilda has a principal named Ms.Trunchbull. Ms.Trunchbull very mean and harsh. I think you should if you like a great book.

I would recommend the book series The Last Kids on Earth.There are three books in the series. It is a funny book about zombies, evil worms that are the size of a train, and other scary stuff. It has a lot of pictures like Charlie Brown. And it has its own movie! Wyatt
ReplyDeleteMy recommendation is BEAST QUEST : AMULET OF AVANTIA STEALTH THE GHOST PANTHER. It is about a girl, a horse, a boy, and a wolf. There is a problem in their city. There is a ghost panther in town. The panther is very mean, and if he shraches you, you will become bad and kill people. Will they be able to kill it? You have to read it to find out.

I recommend Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by: Roald Dahl. This book is about a boy named Charlie who really wants to go into a huge chocolate factory. Then the chocolate factory is putting out five golden tickets,and however gets one gets a tour around the factory. Sadly, Charlie’s family can't afford a chocolate bar. On Charlie’s way home, he got lucky and saw a dollar bill. Then he goes into the candy shop,and bought a chocolate bar no luck. A candy cost 50 cents. So he gets another candy bar. There it was a golden ticket. He and four others won a golden ticket.
