“How to eat a poem” is about eating poems. The new suit is about a new suit. I pick the new suit because i wanted to pick it.

The first poem “New Suit” is a poem about somebody get a new suit, and they go to a birthday party wearing it. The person wears the suit out, but he can’t be messy because he’ll get his suit dirty. The poet also used imagery when it talked about the suit. For example, “Striped suit”

I choose “New Suit” as the winner because I liked how it used imagery. For example, “buttoned shoes, brown socks”. Another example is when it said, “Don’t eat ice cream because it might drip.” I also like how the poem applied to me because whenever when I’m wearing something nice and they keep on telling me to not be messy.

I choose ,’’ The New Suit,’’ because it’s more descriptive and has alliteration unlike , ‘’ How To Eat A Poem.’’ ‘’ The New Suit,’’ also has more sophisticated words as chocolate bombs I don’t know what a chocolate bomb is. That’s why I choose ,’’ the New suit .’’

I think the poem “The New Suit ” should win. I like the how they used Imagery like when they said don't eat ice cream because it might drip. I can see the ice cream dripping on his suit. They also have repetition. For example in the first paragraph the repetition is ABABAB .

I choose “The New Suit” because I can see a lot like “Mother to Son”. In mother to son you can see the staircase. In new suit you can see the ice cream dripping, the old shirt, the new suit. I really like this one. Pick it.

The first poem, “The New Suit”, is about a man who is going to his birthday party wearing a very tight and uncomfortable outfit. I think this poem is funny. This poem has Stanzas, Imagery, and a little bit of Alliteration in it. At the beginning, you’ll notice that the poem says “ terrific tie”. That is the tiny bit of Alliteration. If you try to imagine the poem in your mind while you are reading it, it feels like your brain is showing you a movie.

I choose “The New Suit” because I do not like the second poem at all. Also, I think it is funny when the poet talks about the feeling of being squeezed into a tight suit and not being able to eat cake or ice cream. I think we all know how it feels to be squeezed into a tight dress or suit.

The first poem I read for today’s poetry madness was called “The New Suit”. It was about a boy who wore a big fancy suit to a birthday party and couldn’t eat ice cream or drink juice or it would get ruined.
ReplyDeleteThe second poem that I read was called “How to Eat a Poem”. In it, the kid said how when you are eating a poem, there are no ways to really eat it. You can eat however you want. An you can especially eat it messly.
I think that “How to Eat a Poem” should be the winner because of its great imagery. For example, in the sentence that goes like this, pick it with your fingers and lick the juice that may run down your chin. Another example is in; bite in. Because of its great imagery, it is easier to understand and pick it as winner.

The first poem , “New suit,” is about a man who is going to a party and dresses up fancy. Then when he gets to the party he gets lots of recommendations of how to keep his suit clean. This taking all the fun from being at the party. He decides for next time to wear casual clothes. I can relate to this because I once dressed up for a party and it was hard to enjoy myself. This is what I think this poem about.

Then it explains the poem. The author uses great imagery in stanza saying how ripe and juicy the poem is. Just by reading that I get hungary.
As the winner I choose ,”New Suit,” because it tells about a person and it tells about he corrects himself. I also chose it because of its writers craft. One of them was Imagery. For example , “ Striped suit a terrific tie, and brown socks”. I also saw alliteration . For example, Striped suit and terrific tie. This is why I chose this poem as the winner.

The first poem “ The new suit is about a guy who gets a new suit for his birthday and everybody tells him all these rules like don’t drop stuff all over it. He’s says to himself “ I am never going to wear nice clothes again.” It is the exact opposite of the second poem because the second poem says get messy and dirty all you like. It has really good imagery I can imagine a person telling a guy all the rules to wear a suit. For example, you can also see him anowsing that I am going to wear old clothes next year.

For example, you can really see a guy who is eating a poem and their is technically no ending to it. It also is about even if people are judging you just be yourself. I think that this story is happy.
I chose “ The New Suit,” because it was really funny and also like the imagery. For example, I could really see it happening when a person was telling him how to do all this stuff with this suit. I can also see him saying that you guys are not the boss of me I can do all I can to my suit so I might as well ripe it up. Some of the things that they said not to do was - DOn’t eat ice cream - Juice, drink it slowly.

ReplyDelete“The New Suit” is a poem about suits and not getting messy. One thing it does it describes the suits in it and what they look like. Also, it says not to get stains on it. I know if you get a stain on suit it sometimes won’t come off. This poem reminds me off a poem in game 5 the poem is “Choosing Shoes” the connection I made was how they both described what shoes or suits were like. At first I thought they were written by the same author but it turns out they were not. Some writers craft I noticed it had stanzas. Also, it had some pretty good imagery.

“The New Suit” because overall I thought it had better imagery. For example, cocolate bombs that might exaplode! In my mide a little brown thing is on a table and you pick it up it goes flying everywhere. And when you go home you get one mad mom. Also, I liked how he addmitted not to where a suit but just to wear normal clothes. I also liked “How To Eat A Poem” too because it was funny they both had good imagery. They also both had stanzas. Well I hope mine wins!

The poem that is most important to me is “Mother To Son” because I think what the mom is telling her child is really important. The thing that she is telling him is to never give up and I really like that.
