  1. The first poem, “do you carrot all for me?” is about the poet asking someone if they love him at all. “The castle in the fire” is about a knight saving a lady from a dragon. I chose, “Do you carrot all for me?” because he refers a lot of things to plants like, weed make a swell pear and lettuce marry.

  2. The first poem “Do you carrot all for me?” is a poem talking about someone they love. The poet used fruits and vegetables that sound like real words to ask and talk to her. For example, “lettuce marry;” sounds like let us marry.

The second poem “The Castle in the Fire” is a poem about 2 kids watching a knight try to rescue a princess from a evil dragon in a old castle. The poet used imagery for me when it talked about the knight coming to rescue the princess. I can picture this because of fairy tales I’ve read.

I choose “Do your carrot all for me?” as the winner because i like how it using word play with the fruits and vegetables. For example, when it said “lettuce mary” or”Weed make a swell pear.”
It also used imagery when it said the fruits. For example, “With your turnip nose.”

  4. “The Castle in the Fire” is about a knight fighting a dragon so he save the fair lady.

I also read “Do You Carrot All for Me?”. It was about someone wanting to marry someone else but replaceing some words as veggie words.

I pick “Do You Carrot All for Me?”because it is very funny. It also has great imagery. I think it is great with word play too. That is why I choose “Do You Carrot All for Me”

  5. “The Castle in the Fire” is about a man who saves a girl from a flaming castle and a dragon. This poem reminded me of the movie Shrek.
“Do You Carrot All for Me” is about a guy that likes a girl and is seeing if she likes him using vegetables.
I chose “Do You Carrot All for Me” because I thought Anonymous did a good job with the word play. He said ”Do you carrot all for me” it’s like he’s saying do you care at all for me. He also used metaphors. For example, he said “You are a peach.”

The second poem “The Castle in the Fire” is loving and sad. It is about this knight that shows up and saves the day.

I choose “The Castle in the Fire” because it is loving. I also like it because this knight comes, and sees this girl in the building that is on fire. He git's her out and they ride away together and live happily ever after. That is why I choose this poem.

  7. The first poem “ The Castle In The Fire”, is about a princess who was trapped in a castle that has mean dragons surrounding it and then a knight comes to save the princess. This poem is really nice because it has great rhyme craft. For example, a b a b c d c d.

The second poem “ Do You Carrot All For Me”, is about somebody saying I like you so so so much do you care about me.

I choose “Do You Care All For Me”, as the winner because It you can have a good laugh while you read it. Also, It has good word play. For example, the author states” weed make a swell pear”. The word pear can mean two different things, a pear like a fruit and a pare like a couple.

The second poem is called “Do You Carrot All For Me?’’ and it’s about someone who is comparing someone they like to a vegetable. It has great metaphors. For example, “With your turnip nose.”

  9. “The Castle in the Fire” is about a knight fighting a dragon so he save the fair lady.

I also read “Do You Carrot All for Me?”. It was about someone wanting to marry someone else but replacing some words as veggie words.

I pick “Do You Carrot All for Me?”because it is very funny. It has great imagery. For example, I liked the imagery in where it said, ‘with your radish face.’ I also think it is great with word play too, like in where it said lettice marry instead of let us marry. 10. The poem “The castle on fire”, is about a girl in a castle that is on fire.

The poem “Do You carrot All for Me”, is about a girl that is asking her boyfriend if he likes her .

I think “Do You carrot All for Me ” should win. Because there are a lot of fruits and vegetables. For example there is carrot, beets, turnip and radish. I also see imagery for example lettuce marry weed make a swell pear. I see them kissing at the wedding. That is why the poem “Do You carrot All for Me” should win.

  11. The first poem, “ Do you Carrot all for me?”, is about a man who asks his “ honeydew “, “ Do you carrot all for me?” Then he proposes using very bad fruit and vegge puns. This poem has imagery when he talks about all the fruits and veggies. When he says “ You are a Peach”, he is using a metaphor because of ARE and not LIKE.

The second poem, “The Castle in the Fire”, is about a person who is in a castle, but the castle has a fire and he has to go out. When he comes out of the castle, he sees dragons and a lady that is trapped in a turret! Then, a knight comes o fight the dragon, but a fog comes in! As soon as the fog clears, he sees the knight riding away on a horse with the lady. This poem has Alliteration when he says “ While we watched in wonder”. The Rhyme scheme is ABCB. THe poet shows a lot of imagery with all of the fog and the turrets and the knights.

I choose “ Do you Carrot all for me?” because the second poem was a little to overwhelming, and this poem has a lot more humor to it. Just the fact that it isn’t funny makes it funny. Even with the humor, it still has a meaning. This poem is not about fruits and veggies, but love. The poet actually wrote this for a reason. He was proposing. LIke I said in the first paragraph, this poem has metaphors and imagery. It has metaphors when he says “ You are a peach”. It has imagery when he talks about all of the fruits and veggies. That is why I choose “ Do you Carrot all for me?”.

The rhyme scheme of the poem is ABCB. I think the story is serious because I can imagine him in a serious voice.

The second poem “ Do You Carrot All For Me,” is about guy who really likes a girl and calls her really nice things and then asks do you want to marry me. I think it is really funny and is silly. It has really funny word play like “ My heart beets for you, With your turnip nose, and your radish face.” He calls her funny things but in a nice way.

I think the winner is“ Do you Carrot ALL For Me,” because I like the word play the imagery. For example for imagery is you can really see a guy calling a girl pretty and him asking her to marry her . I also liked the word play. For example, I like how it says “ DO you carrot all for me? My heart beets for you and your radish face you are a peach. THat is why I chose it as my favorite poem!

I choose,”The Castle in the fire as the winner. I choose this for many reasons. One of them is imagery. For example , the stanza ,” We saw a turret window; Open a little space; And frame, for just a moment; A lady’s lovely face.” Another reason is in the second stanza [,” We saw a turret window; Open a little space; And frame, for just a moment; A lady’s lovely face.”] Has a rhyme scheme of ABAB. This is why I chose ,” The Castle in the Fire.

  15. The first poem, “Castle In the Fire,” is about a kid watching a knight rescue a lady from a dragon and a fire. I think the tone is serious because it doesn’t really have any jokes in it.

The second poem, “Do You Carrot All For Me?” is about someone asking another person if they care about them, but they use fruits and vegetables instead of some words. I think the tone is funny because of how they use foods instead of words.

The winner for me is “Do You Carrot All For Me?” because I thought it was funny and I liked it. I liked how they used wordplay. For example, instead of saying “My heart beats for you” It said “My heart beets for you.” Like the vegetable. I like the imagery too because I could really picture a turnip when it said, “With your turnip nose” “Do you carrot for me is definitely the winner!

  16. “Do you carrot all for me”This poem is about love.He is is says they are a perfect pear. He now’s the color of her hair. He now’s what her face looks like and he loves her.

“The Castle in the fire” Is an imaginative poem. He imagined there are dragons in the fire and a enchant castle. He sees a girl in the fire then a smokey viel came then a knight came. Then came big dragons from under the fire. There is a massive fight then everything is gone. Then the knight and the princess got away happily.
