Here is an example of proficient writing:
"The Eagle" is about an eagle flying over the sea and close to the sun. Then he is watching the mountain and swoops down like a lightning bolt to catch his prey.
The second poem, "Casey at Bat", is about a boy whose baseball team is losing, but there are two people on base. Casey gets two strikes, and the crowd is very upset. Finally, Casey strikes out, and the crowd is outraged.
For the winner, I chose "The Eagle". I chose it because it had a deeper meaning and understanding for me. I also liked how used a rhyme scheme of AAABBB. Also, the author used a simile comparing the eagle to a thunderbolt, "He watches from his mountain walls, And like a thunderbolt he falls." That is why I choose The Eagle.
1.”Casey at the Bat” is about a baseball a team who is loosing and it is 4 to 2 they have a person on 3 and 2 if casey makes a home run he will win and otherwise they lose casie lets the ball past twice and on the third o he misses and they lose.
ReplyDelete2.”The Eagle” is about an eagle is on a mountain hunting lonely and he jumps of super fast hunting his poor pray.
3.I vote for “Casey bat at the Bat” because it tells people not to be full of it and it is all so really funny I can imagine him dancing to home plate or him sobbing.
The first poem “The Eagle” is about this eagle that goes through all of these stages.
ReplyDeleteThe second poem “ Casey at Bat” is really funny and is so good at bat when he is up on day he all the sudden couldn't hit and his team lost the game.
I choose “Casey at Bat” I like this one because it is funny and one day he came up to bat and missed the two balls one purpose. Then he came up really to hit this time and missed. Then he spent the rest of the day trying to hit the ball.

I think the poem ‘’, If,’’ is about someone describing things maybe you could to in the future. I think the message is perseverance for saying if you could
ReplyDeleteI think the second poem , ‘’ Who Has Seen The Wind,’’ is talking about if you could see the wind it would be cool.
In my opinion I like ,’’ Who Has Seen The Wind , ‘’ better than ,’’ If ,’’ because I don’t think if is that entertaining and , ‘’ Who Has Seen The Wind is entertaining . For instance , you can visualize what’s going on as in you can picture of the outside with wind blowing. That is why I like ,’’ Who Has Seen The Wind , ‘’ the winner.

The first poem “Who Has Seen the Wind?” is a poem about someone asking who has seen the wind. There is some personification when it says “Who has seen the wind?” and then it say, “But when the leaves hang trembling.” This is personification because you can’t see the wind leaving leaves trembling.
ReplyDeleteThe other poem” “If” is a poem about what you can do if you do what it says. There is a lot of repetition because almost every line it says “If you can”.
I Choose “Who Has Seen the Wind” as the winner because I like how it says “Who has seen the wind?” But you can’t actually see the wind. I also like the imagery. For example, when it says “But when the leaves hang trembling.” I can picture that perfectly.

ReplyDeleteThe Eagle is about a eagle and about what he does during the day and how he lives how he gets his food.
Casey At Bat is about a guy who has never struck out.He is really good at baseball and when he is up to bat he lets the first two balls go by.Then he gets ready to hit it and then he strikes out and he is really mad at the ball going by.
I think The Eagle is better because it is easier to understand and it is got good rhyme scheme. For example it says in lonely land ot was rhyming. It shows really good dialogue and it is really easy to picture it in your head
and you can imagin it.For example it is easy to picture the bird falling

I chose If as the winner because it has good imagery. For example when it says if you trust your- self when all men doubt you I can really picture it in my head.Another reason I picked this poem is the rhyme scheme. For example when it says if you can keep your head when all about you are losing theirs and blaming on you I think it is good.
