  1. I think that the poem Do You Carrot All For Me has a deeper meaning because the poem is proposing to someone, but using word play.

I can make a connection to Roger the Dog. Most of the time I am lazy, and just want to watch YouTube and TV or play Fortnite.

I think Do You Carrot All For Me has better writers craft. The poem had Word play, for example, My heart beets for you. The poem also had Imagery, for example, Lettuce marry.

I chose Roger the Dog as the winner.

  2. The poem, “Roger The Dog,” has a deeper meaning to me because some people can be lazy couch potatoes and they do not do anything in their whole entire life. Just chips, coke, hershey, repeat… It is kind of sad to think about.

I can make a bigger connection to the poem, “Roger The Dog,” because my grandma when she is not visiting us or our cousins in New Hampshire, she always watches the Big Bang Theory. Like she can not stop watching it! It’s crazy!

For the poem, “Roger The Dog,” the poem uses a rhyme scheme and similes. The poem has a rhyme scheme of: AABBCCDDEEFFGGHH! Some examples of similes: “Like a miner, into sleep.” So for the poem, “Do You Carrot All For Me,” the poem uses imagery and word play. Some examples for word play: “Lettuce marry.” Then for imagery it describes how the vegetables look like his/her boyfriend/girlfriend. I am going to have to choose, “Do You Carrot All For Me,” for writer’s craft.

  4. Roger the Dog, has a more important meaning to me. I like how the meaning is about a lazy dog who won’t do anything.

I can make a connection to Roger the dog, because my dog is really lazy too.

I like Roger the dog’s writer’s craft the most, because this poem used a rhyme scheme. F or example, it said Romp and chomp, it also said Dog and log.

I choose Roger the Dog, as the winner.

  5. I think the poem ROGER THE DOG has a better meaning to me because the owner loved his dog and the dog loved his owner. So it spoke to me the most because i’m a dog person.

I used to have a dog who would do nothing but sleep, eat, and get loved. He did this because he was really, really, really, old. And he loved me and I loved him.

I choose ROGER THE DOG as the winner because it used great rhyme scheme of (aabbaabb.) also it used couplets for the lines. For example, it used 8 lines divide 8 by 2 and you get four!

  6. The meaning of Do You Carrot All For Me is that maybe someone is saying that someone else doesn’t seem like they don’t care for them and someone is asking if they do.

My connection with Roger the Dog is that I used to have a dog exactly like that. He would always eat and sleep and take naps every single minute, hour, and day of his life (except when he was young).

I choose Roger the Dog. I like the personification because you can’t bake your head in the oven. I also like the rhyme scheme because it goes AABBCC and I like how it repeats itself three times.

  7. Roger The Dog is more meaningful to me. I have my own dog and he follows my mom around so she can feed him. I love dogs and my dog loves to lay by the fire when he is not playing or eating.

I have a connection with Roger. I love to sleep. Like once I feel asleep while my babysitter was here and I wouldn't get up(that was a dream, I think?”. Roger is awesome so I hope you pick him.

    I saw rhyme scheme when it said”ease (line 1)fleas(line 2)I saw repetition when it said”He(line 2,line 3,line 5,line 8,line 10,line 12,13,14,15.

I also have a connection with Roger the Dog because I had a dog and I loved him just like in the poem
How to eat a poem has better writer's craft because it has imagery, because it said stuff with food and a relationship in between them so it relly made a picture in your mind.:)

  9. Roger the dog is about a dog who is lazy and does not use any energy for play or exercise. The only thing his energy goes into is a good meal and having 5 pounds gained. This poem has a strong meaning to me.

I made a connection with do you carrot all for me because I like to use plays on words.

I choose roger the dog as the winner because it had a stronger meaning. I thought the other poem was sort of lame. I saw the poem use similes. It used similes when it said “like a miner , into sleep.”

  10. I think Roger the Dog means more because it is about a dog that doesn’t break routine and justs eat, sleeps, go to the bathroom, repeat. If you knew someone that lived like that I would feel pretty sad for them because all they did were the things you had to do, but they are not outside working at a job or playing with their friends.

I can make a connection to Roger the Dog because one of my dogs just eats, maybe sometimes play or have fun, sleep, bathroom, and repeat. She is so adorable, bu she just sits on her butt all day, and expects us to pet her or scratch her. So that is why I can make a connection to Roger the Dog.

I like the writer’s craft in both but I really like the writer’s craft in Roger the Dog, the writer’s craft is the couplets EX: Asleep he wheezes at his ease,
He only wakes to scratch his fleas, That was the writer’s craft I

    Liked

    Roger the dog wins

  11. Roger The Dog has a stronger meaning to me because I have a dog and It is lazy like Rger but that does not mean that they are bad. Dogs have a lot of differences with humans. Dogs are so lazy that they make you do everything for the except them just snagging your food from us,witch they love.
Roger The Dog has a connection with me because I have two dogs and they are the same way. Dogs if they see food they will definitely go attack it.
I think that Roger The Dog Has better writers craft because the imagery ,I can see a dog being lazy and making people doing everything for them. I also like` the alliteration with what it is telling you in a list.

  12. I think Do You Carrot All For Me has a deeper meaning. It’s about a man talking to the woman that he loves. He is saying he will always love her so I think it means to never resent the people you love.

I have a connection with Roger the Dog. I have a dog who is really lazy and she doesn’t like to move and she always sleeps.
I like the writer’s craft in Roger the Dog. The rhyme scheme is aabbccddeeffgg. It also has a simile. “ Like a miner into sleep,” is comparing Roger to a miner

  13. My winner is Do you carrot at all for me. It means more to to me.

I have a connection to it because i used to play with my food and one time at lunch at my old school we were playing food puppet and we got on someone when he was walking by heb got mad at us threw food at us missed it hit someone and it was a great FOODFIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For the writer's craft it had Rhyme scheme, and personification.

  14. I like Roger The Dog because it means a lot to me. Like when the dog only moves to eat his food. That makes sense because if it never moves, the only exercise you can make him do is eat food. Tell him is food is ready, he’ll come in the kitchen, get his food, and boom, he starts to move. Also, when it starts moving, from another end of the room, tell him his other food is ready because he’ll come from one end of the foom to the other. But if you do it to many times, your dog will get fat, so, take his food outside with you, and make him run after you for his food. You’ll soon realize how fast your dog is. Finally train him to where if he runs a lap around your street, he gets dog food or lasagna.

I also like Roger The Dog because I connect to it. First of all, when I play video games, Like Fortnite, I tell my mom to make me noodles, and when I do, I just sit and do nothing waiting for my noodles! Second of all, if i’m playing on my ipod and i’m hungry, I only move to get a bag of doritos. Third of all, if i’m just sitting on the couch after playing outside like normal, I ask for some ice cream and I don’t move a muscle to do so. Finally, at dinner, when I need something to drink, I ask my mom or dad to get me something to drink. Sometimes i’m very lazy like Roger The Dog, so that is why I connect to him.

The writer’s craft in Roger The dog is rhyme scheme. The rhyme scheme goes like aabb. The second type of writer’s craft is similes because in one part of the story it says, “ You can lug him like a log.” and that is the writer’s craft for Roger The Dog.

I choose Roger The Dog as the winer!!! Wha hoo!!

  15. Roger the dog is the most meaningful . because I used to have a chocolate lab but he died because he got super lazy and did not eat.

I can connect to this because I have a pug and naturally he is super fat so he just sits on the couch all day. Also he does not like to run a lot the only time he runs is when we give him a chew toy.

One writer's craft is couplets because it has two lines in each paragraph. Another writer's craft is repetition because it says dog a lot. I also noticed that every word at the end of each sentence rhymes in that paragraph.

  16. Roger the Dog has a bigger meaning to me because I like how it is about a dog that is very lazy.

I have a connection to Roger the Dog because I am lazy sometimes and love to lay down next to The fire and get warm. Also, I like to bake my head next to the fire just like the line in the poem.

“Do You Carrot All For Me “is also the one that I thought had the deeper meaning because even though it’s funny, it’s talking about someone asking someone else if they love them.

“Do You Carrot All For Me” is the one that I thought had better poet’s craft. For example, it used a metaphor when it said “With your turnip nose” because it’s saying that someone’s nose is a turnip. Also, it used personification when it said “Lettuce marry” because we all know that lettuce can’t marry.

"Do You Carrot All For Me" is the winner!

  19. The first poem Roger the dog is more meaningful to me because I have a dog that is puny and I do not want my dog to end up like Roger the dog! The second poem I can relate to because my parents are together and married. The winner is… Roger the dog because it has good imagery. For example it says he works as hard as you thing finishing his dinner plate. It also has good rhyme scheme. For example it says He hogs the fire, he bakes his head. As if it were a loaf of bread.

For example, the author stated,”Then he’ll dig down deep, like a miner, into sleep.” I also enjoyed the rhyme scheme because the author never went back to the same rhyming sound.
