The Eagle is about an eagle flying over the sea and close to the sun. Then he is watching the mountain and swoops down like a lightning bolt to catch his prey.
The second poem, Casey at Bat, is about a boy whose baseball team is losing, but there are two people on base. Casey gets two strikes, and the crowd is very upset. Finally, Casey strikes out, and the crowd is outraged.
For the winner, I chose The Eagle. I chose it because it had a deeper meaning and understanding for me. I also liked how used a rhyme scheme of AAABBB. Also, the author used a simile comparing the eagle to a thunderbolt, "He watches from his mountain walls, And like a thunderbolt he falls." That is why I choose The Eagle.

I choose If because it tells not to lie. It tells be kind and they will be kind to you. The rhyme scheme is AAACBCB.
I think If means that people will blame you for things that you did not do and sometimes it might be best to just take the blame. It also means have dreams but do not let dreams become your master, also to be strong in all ways, because you can always be yourself.
ReplyDeleteI think that Who has seen the wind is about wind, you can't see the wind but it is always there. I think that this poem can refer to God because he is always there for us even though we can't see him.
I think that Who has seen the wind wins because it is meaningful and it makes sense also it can relate to God. But I also think that If is close behind because it is an uplifting story about keeping your head up and being a kind, faithful, and trustworthy friend.
