  1. The first poem, Do you Carrot for me is about a man describing a woman and what their relationship is by using word play

The second poem, Castle in the Fire is about a castle being attacked by a dragon. A lady is stuck inside, then a knight in shinning armor comes and saves the day.

I chose Do you Carrot me as the winner because it has bad word play very very bad word play. The poet used vegetables to describe his wife, for example when he said with your turnip nose and your radish face you're a peach It had a good rhythm even though it didn't rhyme. That is why i chose this poem.

  3. The first poem, Do you carrot all for me?, is about a love story, vegetable style.
The second poem, The Castle in the Fire, is about someone seeing a whole castle in there own fireplace!
I chose, do you carrot all for me? because it was very quarky. It used tons of great word play like " If we cantaloupe" instead of "If we can't elope" to really get the message across. Also, it had great imagery describing the woman's "radish" face and her "turnip" nose. I think Do you carrot all for me? is definitely the winner.

  30. The first poem, Do you carrot all for me, is about Anonymous asking her friend, “Do you carrot all for all for me? My heart beets for you.” I like her poem because of she uses foods that sound like words, for example, Lettuce marry=Let us marry, or, Weed make a swell pear=We’d make a swell pair.

The second poem, The castle in the Fire, is about a knight fighting dragons for a lady in a castle. The castle blows up on fire and the humble knight and beautiful lady ride out into the sunset. Mary Jane Carr does a great job of explaining the poem, for example she says, “With slender lance a-tilting, Thrusting with a skillful might, He charged at the dragons- Ah, ‘twas a brilliant fight.”

My favorite poem was- Do you carrot all for me? I liked the poem better because of Anonymous made it fun to read by using vegetables for words. There aren’t any similes, but the author uses fun and different words (lettuce, carrot, weeds, pear, cantaloupe, beets, turnip, radish, and peach). These are the reasons why I like this poem better.
