Your post needs to include the following:
1. What is the meaning of the first poem? (Summarize in one sentence)
2. What is the meaning of the second poem? (Summarize in one sentence)
3. Based on the criteria, which poem did you choose and WHY?
***Please tell me everything you think, but use your best writing.
Here is an example of proficient writing:
The first poem, Who has Seen the Wind, is about how no one can see the wind, but you can feel it. Especially when the trees bow down, and that is when you know that the wind is there.
If~ is about a dad giving his boy advice. For example, if he does all things like "don't look too good or talk too wise," then he will be a man no matter what.
I chose If~ as the winner because it had a deeper meaning, and it has a good rhythm. The rhyme scheme was AAAABCBC, and it gave the poem a good beat. The author used repetition to emphasize the meaning of the poem. For example, he began each line with the word “if.” The writer’s craft and message of the poem make it the true winner.
The first poem, This is just to say, is about someone saying that he had eaten all of the plums that were in the ice box, and that you were probably about to eat them for for breakfast, but forgive me, they were delicious, so sweet and so cold. This is a funny but kind of weird poem. The second poem, Choosing shoes, is about how there are so many different shoes but everyone chooses flat shoes and fat shoes, stump along shoes and wipe them on mat shoes. I chose choosing shoes for the winner because it has an interesting rhyme scheme, it is aaab, aaab, aaab, aaab. It is also repetitive because it says shoes in every sentence. This is just to say didn't have any thing in it,( no rhyme scheme, no personification, ext.) I liked both poems though.

ReplyDeleteThe second poem, Choosing shoes, is about how there are so many shoes to choose like red shoes, buckle shoes, and strappy shoes, but we pick fat shoes, flat shoes, stump along shoes, and wipe them on mat shoes.
For the winner, I chose Choosing shoes. One reason I like this poem is that it has a cool rhyme scheme. The rhyme scheme is a,a,a,b, a,a,a,b, a,a,a,b, a,a,a,b. It also is repetitive like it says shoes in every sentence. Over all, I liked both.
