The first poem, Roger The Dog, is about a dog who is very lazy and won't get up. He uses all of his strength to eat food, so this dog is not the healthy type.
The second poem, The Falling Star, is about a boy who spots a shooting star falling through the sky and explains that it is priceless, memorable, and to be forever gone out of his life.
I think that the winner is the poem, The Falling Star. The reason I chose this poem is because it has great imagery, like when the woman stated,"Blinding the north as it went by". Another reason I chose this poem is the author uses the rhyme scheme: AA BB CC. This makes the poem fun to read and gives it a rhythm.
I think Some One is about a person who is doing something in their house when all the sudden they hear a knocking on the door. They don't know who it is and then they open the door and no one is to be seen at all. I liked how the author used the 5 sense in the like "I listened, I opened..." and "I looked to left and right".
ReplyDeleteI think that Life Doesn't Frighten Me is about a person who is starting a new school and is talking about how it won't scare him/her. Liked how the author used a rhyme scheme of AAABB on the first part of the story and many more through out the story.
My favorite was Life Doesn't Frighten Me because the message the author is trying to show the readers is a great message not to be scared of any thing. Also it was such a enjoyable story to read.
I think that Some One is about a small creature - Like a dwarf - was sleeping until he woke up to knocking at his door. He opened the door very carefully, but know one was there except the nocturnal animals.I thought this poem was great because it had great imagery. I could just see the dwarf slowly opening the door.
ReplyDeleteI think that Life Doesn't Frighten Me is about a kid who says he isn't afraid at life at all. He gives you all the reasons why he is not scared. I thought this poem had a great rhyming. I thought that it was AABB.
My favorite poem has to be Life Doesn't Frighten me. I loved it because it had great rhyming, great imagery, and the poet just grabbed me. It is really cool how the poet can come up with all these things and make them all work together. That is why this poem was my favorite.
I think that Some One is about a person that is tiny who was sleeping soundly. Until all of the sudden someone knocked on the door. He was afraid , so he opened the door very slowly. When he opened the door no one was there, but some nocturnal animals. I could really visualize this poem because of the great descriptive words.

My favorite poem was Life Doesn't Frighten Me because I liked the authors message that was to not worry about the future and focus on the present. This message is very important. That is why I chose Life Doesn't Frighten Me.
I think Some One is about a small little person (Maybe a little elf or dwarf) who comes knocking on someone's door. The person at the door can't figure out who the person knocking is and only says he hears, "Foresty" noises.

I think that Some One is about a small person who hears a knock on there door. He/She is not sure who came knocking on the wall. When it opens the door, It does not know who the knocker was.

I think someone is about a person knocking on a dwarfs door and ran away because the dwarf said "I looked to the left and right, but nought there was a-stirring.

My winner is life doesn't frighten me because it rhymed and it was clever with all the words it came up with and put them together to make them rhyme also it was funny and it was entertaining.
I think Some One is about a small little guy who hears a knock on the door so he listens then opens it but he can not see anything or hear anything except the busy beetle, the screech owl's call, the cricket, the dewdrops fall. I could also imagine a small guy going to to the front door in the night. I think Life Doesn't Frighten me is about a person who is saying that you can do mean stuff to me but it does not scare me. I think she is also starting a new school and saying you have to be brave. I think the Rhyme Scheme of the poem is AABB. My favorite poem was Life Doesn't Frighten me because I liked how it Rhymed really well. I liked the story it was telling like why you should never be afraid of anything. I could also imagine it in my head.

I choose Life Doesn't Frighten Me because I think it really teaches you a good lesson on how not to be afraid and to never give up. Also, to not be afraid of what might come next. I liked the rhyme scheme AABB a lot. This poem had a lot of texture to it. I think that is why I choose it.
In Some One, the author is telling about a night when someone knocks on his door and then runs away. In our neighborhood, we call this "ding-dong ditching." When the man opened the door, he saw nothing but heard natural sounds from a beetle, screech owl, and cricket.

I think that the winner poem is Life Doesn't Frighten Me. The reason that I like this is because it is easier to put to a tune of a song. It has great rhythm and I found myself singing it instead of just reading it aloud. For example, when the author says, "Life doesn't frighten me at all", that would be the hook. I also liked all of the repetition of "Life doesn't frighten me at all." This is why I chose Life Doesn't Frighten Me.
I think Some One is about a person that hears a knock in the middle of the night. They go to answer it but when they open the door nobody is there and they only hear beetles, crickets, and owls.

Some one was about a guy who thought that somebody knocked on his door,and when he looks to see whats there.Nothing is there.It did have some animal sounds to maybe help visulize the poem better.

I think that Life Doesn't frighten Me At All,because its really cool how it lists so many scary things and it just keeps saying "life doesn't frighten me."
I think Life Doesn't Frighten Me is about a girl who is saying that she is fearless and that nothing scares her. I think the message is that sometimes in life things are scary, but sometimes you just walk away and be brave.

Both of these poems were great but my favorite was Life Doesn't Frighten Me better. I like it better because I like the author's rhyme scheme.

My favorite is... Life Dosen't Frighten Me because I like to put a tune in each song and this one is my favorite one. Also this is a great poem to read and put into words. That's why I choose Life Dosen't Frighten Me.
I think Some One is about a person who hears lots of sounds while in his house. He thinks someone is at the door, but I think he hears all the sounds of the outside. Sometimes when I am trying to go to sleep at night I hear all the same noises.
ReplyDeleteI think Life Doesn't Frighten is about a little boy or girl describing all the things he could be scared of and probably should be scared of but chooses to be brave. I think the boy reminds himself that the only place he needs to be scared is when things aren't real at all while asleep.
My favorite is Life Doesn't Frighten Me because I am scared of a lot of those things and this person is not and it teaches me to be brave and have confidence in my self.
I think that Some One is about a person who was sleeping, but then heard a knock on their door. I think that a little person was the one knocking on the door and since the man was so little, the person didn't see him. He only heard the screeches of an owl, a beetle, and a cricket.
ReplyDeleteI think that Life Doesn't Frighten Me is about a kid who is saying everything that would normally scare a person and then saying that nothing scares them. They list pretty much about everything that would scare someone and of course saying that nothing on that list scares him/her.
My winner is totally Life Doesn't Frighten Me because like Kate Maree said I loved the rhythm and I thought it had a great beat. Again, like Kate Maree said I found myself singing/humming the poem instead of reading it. If Life Doesn't Frighten Me was a song, it would be, like, my most favorite song!!!
I think Some One is about someone getting a knock at their door, but when they opened it, no one was there, and the only sounds they could hear were the sounds of the owl, the sounds in the wall, and the cricket whistling. I think Life Doesn't Frighten Me, is about a a girl who is fearless, and will do anything, and when she just smiles, the scary things go wild, and she has a charm that helps her not be scared. My favorite poem is Life doesn't frighten me, because the bravery of the girl really inspires me, and it seemed really flowing to me with the AABB rhyme pattern.
