I think that do you carrot all for me had more meaning than Roger the dog. The man wanted to marry a women, but got confused and used examples of food instead. I really liked the personification in the poem. Like sweet as a peach, peaches are not alive so they are not nice or sweet. I really liked this poem.
ReplyDeleteI can connect best with Roger the dog because sometimes I do not want to get up and play. I just want to sit around and do not do anything. Roger, the dog was also very lazy and didn't want to get up. The boy in the story wanted to play with the dog, but the dog was too lazy. My siblings are like the boy in the story. The encourage me to get up, but I say no likeRoger in the story.
My favorite poem is do you carrot all for me because this poem had great personification and had an important meaning, but still made you laugh.
The meaning in Roger The Dog is more important to me because the poem is talking about this old dog that won't do much anymore. I think Roger deserves to be lazy because he has lived his life up and about and now he needs to relax. Sometimes he needs a little extra love to keep him going. That is a very important meaning to me.
ReplyDeleteMy connection is with the poem Roger The Dog because I have a old dog who does not do much anymore just like the owner in Roger The Dog. I know he is old and he just can not play anymore. I wish he could play but I must understand that he does not have the body for it anymore.
I liked the poet's craft more in Roger The Dog because the poet put a rhyme in every verse in the poem. The rhymes and the verses helped prove that Roger is a very old and lazy dog. The rhymes also make the poem funner to read because the verses stick in your head longer. I love the poem Roger The Dog!
I think Do you Carrot All for Me? has a more important meaning than Roger the Dog. I think this because Do you Carrot All for Me is about someone who is telling someone else that they really love them and I think this was a good meaning for a poem.
ReplyDeleteI can make a connection to the poem Roger the Dog because I have 2 dogs that can sometimes act like the Roger from this poem.

I think that Do you carrot all for Me has a more important meaning than Rodger the Dog. The man loves this woman and uses a creative example to show his feelings for her. I thought that the poet was very funny in terms of him using all the foods to describe the couple.
ReplyDeleteI connect best with Rodger the Dog because sometimes my parents will just lay around and do NOTHING. Everyday it's always, "Dad can you play outside with me.?" His Response: " Sorry I'm doing work." In parent code that usually means, " I am to tired to go outside right now, so I am just going to sit here and play on a device." I don't mean to be mean to my parents, but this is how it goes everyday. Rodger the Dog was a great connection to a lot of people for the fact that life isn't always about sitting around and being lazy.
My favorite poem has to be Do you carrot all for Me because this poem had great writer's craft. The poem used funny words but yet the poem made a lot of sense to me. i really hope that this poem wins!
Hey Vee what is the word for non human qualities
DeleteI think Roger the Dog has more meaning because it is about a dog who is lazy and who just sits around the fire all day and does nothing. But the boy in the story is trying to tell to get up because if you sit around all day you will miss all the fun things in life. I can connect best with Do you Carrot all for me because if I was asking someone to marry me I bet I would be so nervous asking her before I knew it I would be speaking to her saying food instead of words. My favorite was Roger the Dog because I liked its writer's craft and the Rhyme scheme I thought it was AABB.

ReplyDeleteThe meaning of Roger the dog is how dogs can be lazy, and also how Roger can sleep for almost a day. Roger is so lazy that the most exercise he does is walking to his food bowl. I can connect to Roger the dog, because I have a dog too. His name is Andy, and he can sometimes be lazy. Otherwise, he is crazy. My favorite is Roger the dog. I noticed a rhyme scheme AAABBC. It also mentions him personification by calling him a sack of a dog.

Do you carrot at all for me is poem about a man that is confessing his love for a woman, but talks about it that love through fruits and vegetables. I think it is weird how fruits and vegetables are used to explain his love.
ReplyDeleteRoger the Dog is funny because it explains the day in the life of a dog. Dogs don't do much of anything, but they can be your best friend. This poem reminds me of my dog Disco and how he was my best friend before he passed away.
Roger the dog is my favorite because I connect more with the meaning of that poem and it makes me remember my dog Disco.

ReplyDeleteI can relate to Roger the Dog because in the morning I can be lazy and not want to get up. This also reminds me of my dad. When this poem says, "You can roll him with your foot, he'll stay snoring where he's put," it sounds like the way my dad acts when he sleeps. I can relate to that because my dad will snore and keep sleeping when we try to wake him up.
My favorite poem is Do you carrot all for me because it describes feelings between two people. I especially like how the poet uses some of these word as fruits and veggies. I think it is creative Do You Carrot All For Me uses vegetables to make other words. I can relate with Roger The Dog because I had a dog just like Roger and most of the time she was very lazy.
