I think that Mother to Son has a more important meaning than Life Doesn't Frighten Me because the mom delivers such a valuable and great life lesson. Every day in life you think that your day is going to go all your way but in the end, God has a plan for all of us and we should trust him.I also like how the poem says, " Life for me ain't been no crystal stair." I love Mother to Son so much and I hope this poem inspires a lot of people.
ReplyDeleteI can make a connection to Life Doesn't Frighten Me in a lot of ways. At night sometimes I hear, see, and feel things in my room that make me want to scream. But then again, I know that nothing is in my room and I will be okay. I really like how the poet uses all the fairy tale characters and turns them into a nightmare.
I like Mother to son a lot better because of the writer's craft. The way it flows so nicely pulls the reader's heart an d makes them want to cry. I really hope Mother to Son wins!
Life doesn't frighten me's meaning is more important to me because I think the poem is all about bravery and courage, and I really belive in those characteristics.

She is also telling about her past which sounds like a cool story. I like the way she describes things in it like when she says, "life for me ain't been no crystal stair."

I can really connect to the sentence in it when the poem says, "panthers in the park and strangers in the dark" because sometimes I am afraid of these things.
My favorite poem is Mother To Son because I like the way there is no rhyme scheme. That makes it sound like there is a real person talking. I also like the way it sounds like the mother is encouraging.

She has told me that sometimes things happen in life that you can't control but you have to keep going and push through tough moments. I cannot connect to Life Doesn't Frighten Me because I actually am afraid of some of the things the boy is describing.

I think Mother To Son has a more important meaning then Life Doesn't Frighten Me because of what the message is saying to you. I imagine this. A mother telling her son after a bad day,"Son, it will be all right. You know, life for me aint been no crystal stair." That is what touches my heart, to see a mother connecting with her son. The message to me was, "Life won't be easy. People will always be hard. But, even then, you have to keep pushing through it, even if times are tough." That message really means something to me.

When someone you love is having a hard day, you need to connect with them saying, "I know how you feel." It really makes you feel like you aren't alone. I choose Mother To Son because I can connect with the poem. "Life for me aint been no crystal stair." That is what the mother is telling her son, and that really makes me happy to know that a mother knows,really, truly knows, how her son feels. Sometimes when I lay in bed in the middle of the night and I see a shadow go by I know that it is just someone driving by my house.
