Here is an example of proficient writing:
The first poem, Roger The Dog, is about a dog who is very lazy and won't get up. He uses all of his strength to eat food, so this dog is not the healthy type.
The second poem, The Falling Star, is about a boy who spots a shooting star falling through the sky and explains that it is priceless, memorable, and to be forever gone out of his life.
I think that the winner is the poem, The Falling Star. The reason I chose this poem is because it has great imagery, like when the woman stated,"Blinding the north as it went by". Another reason I chose this poem is the author uses the rhyme scheme: AA BB CC. This makes the poem fun to read and gives it a rhythm.
The first poem, “Roger the Dog,” is about a dog that does nothing but sleep and eat. He is a very lazy dog.
ReplyDeleteThe second poem, “The Falling Star” is about a kid that saw a shooting star. He thought the star was cool.
The poem I chose is (………….drum roll………) ROGER THE DOG!! The reason I chose this poem is because it is funny and entertaining. Another reason I like this poem is that it tells more in the story than “The Falling Star”, and I like the way that it rhymes. The rhyme pattern is AA BB CC.

I think Casey at the Bat is better because I can real visualize a kid at a baseball game cheering for his favorite baseball player. And because I LOVE BASEBALL!!
The Eagle was mainly about how the eagle is looks, and how he flies above all.I saw that it repeated the same beggining letter when it said "lonely lands."

I think that The Eagle was better because it rhymed more and was easyer to understand than Casey At the Bat.
I think that The eagle is about am Eagle whom the author in the first part sort of describes it as a human when it says, " He clasps the crag with crooked hands." I also noticed that the author did something throughout the poem. At the end of each line there would be a rhyming word.

The eagle is about an eagle and the author is describing how bold the eagle is using great description. The eagle is on a cliff and it is describing how the eagle gets up, looks around and sees the sea and I like how it says like a thunderbolt he falls meaning the eagle jumped off the cliff to fly. Casey up to bat is about a baseball team that's losing with two outs an their is a runner on second and third. Casey is up to bat and she has two strikes then you think she hits the ball but really she does not and she strikes out. I liked the eagle because of its description and also I liked how it rhymed.

The Eagle is about an eagle that is flying in the sky by himself. He is flying high in the sky looking down at the ocean. He lands on a mountain and then dives down toward the ocean below him. Casey at the Bat is about a baseball team that is losing 4-2. The fans are wishing Casey could get up to bat, but Flynn and Blake are up before Casey. They get on base, so Casey can then bat. I like Casey at the Bat because I love baseball and I think it teaches a lesson of not getting your hopes up.

ReplyDeleteCasey at the bat is about a guy on a baseball team who is the best hitter on the team. Everyone is counting on Casey to hit the ball out of the park. When Casey strikes out it made me think that even the best players don't always perform. It made me think that it takes a team to win a game, not just one player. Casey at the bat was my favorite.
