Each new year, two of my cyber-mentors challenge teachers to find their One Little Word (OLW). The OLW is one word that will represent, or symbolize, the year ahead. The word should be personal and thoughtful. My mentors spend weeks thinking about their OLW, making sure they select a word that will really guide them.
I have thought a great deal about my OLW. For 2014, I selected "trust" as my One Little Word. I selected "trust" because I don't always trust God's plan and try to make my own way. I need this word to remind me to trust not only His plan for me, but also to trust in the strengths and talents He has blessed me with, rather than worry about the future. Trust can apply to my life in so many ways - through friends, work, my students, my family, myself, and ultimately, God's plan for me. I will use this word to guide me through the days of 2014.

GOD
ReplyDeleteGOD is with us when things trouble us. GOD is all and powerful. GOD created us. GOD guides us through life with protection.
GOD loves us.(Add on to that)
DeleteThe word I chose was friendly. I chose friendly because I want to be a lot nicer. I will use this word in my life so I wont get in trouble. The other way I will use this word is so I wont get mad at my sister as much. I hope this word helps me in my life.

ReplyDeleteSometimes you have to have Perseverance. Yough times come, and you have to fight through them and trust God. You may have some doubts, but God will get you through it. I want to have PERSEVERANCE all through 2014. I know that I can do it because God is on my side.
My OLW is courage.I choose courage because when ever I am feeling down or things are not going my way,I have to have courage to focus on the good things.And have a positive attitude,to guide me in 2014.
ReplyDeleteI picked faith because I need to have faith in my friends to be there for me whenever. Faith in God to put me on the right path. Also, faith in my teachers to give me the education I need.
ReplyDeleteMy one little word is integrity. I chose this word because i want to show people i can show integrity.And if there is a problem, the blame doesn't come straight to me,even if I did not it. That is one of the big things I think God wants me to work on. And I'll try my hardest to do what God wants me to do.
ReplyDeleteMy word is fun. I picked fun because having fun is FUN!!!!!!!!! And if you don't have fun you get no where in life. When you don't have fun growing up then when your old you will be really cranky, and can't socialize, and will be a mean parent. Which would stink for your kid. That is why you want to have FUN.

ReplyDeleteI will try to make new friends this year. I will do that when someone is lonely at recess. Another way is to have friends over. I think friends is a good word. I will make new friends and continue to play with my old friends.
JOY
ReplyDeleteI think as long as you have JOY It will get you through life. That's all you really need to be a friend. It also makes you a more exciting person. People will want to be around you more more so be a joyful person!
Perseverance. I plan to use perseverance to finish things that I started. Because a lot of things that I did in 2013 for example: I didn't finish a lot of comics that I started to make. But I'll do better in 2k14! Happy new year everybody!

ReplyDeleteWhen someone I loved is gone, God will always comfort me. When someone cares for me I am loved. When someone hurts me I know God loves me. When someone helps me I am loved. The reason I picked LOVE is because love is what makes me happy.
Amazing
ReplyDeleteMy word is amazing. I choose this word because my sister is amazing. She is so amazing she helps me with things I need help with. Since she is amazing she also is kind and great. My amazing sister will always be my sister.
My OWL is faith. Faith in god and each other. I need to have faith in god when i am going throgh hard times. i want to have faith in god every second of my life. That is my OLW for 2014.

ReplyDeletethen you will be very lonely in life.You won't make any new friends. When you grow up you won't have anybody to go on a fishing trip with. You definitely won't get married. That's why you should include everyone.
My word is joy because it means happy.Sometimes i need to be happy instead of sad.Joy means Jesus 1st others 2nd yourself 3rd.I know when you trust god you will have joy.Always have joy
ReplyDeleteI chose courage for my OLW A lot of things are going to worry you in life. It takes courage to get by them. for example if it is your first time skiing then you might be scared to take one of the blue dimonds but if ha e courage than you can do it
ReplyDeleteMy choice of an OLW is imagine. If someone is mean to me, I should imagine they didn't say it; this helps everyone. I should also use imagination to get ideas for my book series, CatWorld. I also need to imagine when I am reading. For example, you need to imagine you are in the book.
ReplyDeleteMy OLW is to be patient. I need to be patient when I need my mom to help me but she's making dinner. I picked the word patient because I'm not patient. I like to do things fast. I also picked patient because I don't like to wait. At the end of the school year I hope to be really patient.
ReplyDeleteThe O.L.W I chose was "creativity". I chose "creativity" because sometimes I have a good idea and I don't do anything with it. Sometimes when I'm at school and I have a good idea I don't even record it. I think to improve my creativity I should sit down at my typewriter and make something out of my ideas.I hope I will remember to make something out of my ideas every day.
ReplyDeleteMy one little word is prepared. The reason why I choose this word was i need to be prepared for the challenges that await me. For example at school I'll need to be prepared tests and other things. When I'm camping I'll need to be prepared for about anything.

ReplyDeleteMy word Determined.It's a strong and powerful word. It's a word that brings people to there goal. A wise man once said" obstacles are the things that people see when they take there eyes off there goal" that saying follows Determination, leads you to your goal. My goal is to become a gr8 at reading and with determination IT WILL HAPPEN!!!!
My OLW for 2014 is "Confident". I chose "Confident" as my word because I need to believe in myself at all times. I might use this word when I miss a shot in basketball. Or when I'm doing a timed test. I think my OLW will really help me get through the year.
ReplyDeleteMy one little word is patience. I chose the word patience because Ialways think a- head about almost everything. For example: Let's say I was saying good bye to a freind, and they left. Then I would say to my mom,"Can I have another freind over?" And I wouldn't think about enjoying the tgime I had had. I think the word patience will lead me through the right path this year in 2014!

ReplyDeleteI chose faithful because there are a lot a times were I would worry about something and not have faith that it would be ok. Also when I worry I think about something called "ifs". "Ifs" are when you start thinking what if she... . If i do this ... will happen. I do "Ifs" a lot, so I need to have faith that God can take care of me. Some ways I can use faith this year are 1.not worry 2.that everything will be ok 3.someone will always love me 4.last but not least that God will always be there.
confidence
ReplyDeleteI choose confidence because sometimes when I don't want to do something but it is the right thing to do, I have to have confidence. For example, when my Aunt had cancer, I had to have confidence that she would be okay.
My word is savor. I chose this because I feel like sometimes I need to be more thankful to the Lord for life. I need to savor life and live it to the fullest. I also need to savor the flavor. In conclusion, that is my one little word.

ReplyDeleteMy O-L-W is present. I choose this word because I think it is important to live in the present not in the past or future. One time I went to the beach and when I got home I was disappointed because we were gone.
