As we read our fiction books, we have learned how to get to know a character in a deep way. We have studied:
- character traits (appearance, actions, dialogue, and thoughts)
- a character's relationship with other characters
- how a character changes in the story
Your post must state your opinion, and your opinion MUST be supported by the text (text evidence) and what you know about the world. Be sure to edit.
Here is my example:
I think Ida B is trying to be tough because she doesn't know how to handle all of the heartache from her mother's illness and the changes in her life. In the story, her mother cries on her shoulder and apologizes to Ida B for the pain she is causing her, and Ida B has to give her best effort to not cry and be kind to her mother. Instead, she shows no emotion toward her mother. Also, when Ms. Washington puts her hand on Ida B, she feels it for some time after, which means Ida B still cares. I predict Ida B will come around because she cannot continue to live with such a hateful attitude. It will eventually get to her.

In the book I read last night a boy and a girl are fighting over which pet they get.A cat or a dog. they compete in very creative ways.In my opinion the girl is going to raise more money because she is older and smarter

ReplyDeleteI think that Ramona is so cool because she is trying to save her family. She is trying to save money for her family because they were getting very poor and their dad lost his job. She is trying to get her dad a job by getting him all these internships for him. I think she was a very big help to her family.

I think fudge is a fun exiting interesting little fellow. He has a Myna bird named uncle feather witch can talk. He finds the weirdest and obnoxious friends like his friend Richy he's rich and he brags about all his things. He has crazy ideas like worm ice cream.That is what I think about fudge.

DeleteI think Lemony Snicket is really confused. I think this because this weird girl takes him to stained by the sea. Also there is lots of strange things in the town. For example a forest made of sea weed and huge needles sticking into the ground.

I think Herminone is a smart and wise character. She always has a solution for everything. For example she bewiched a bag so it could hold all their stuff. She also is great at spells. Herminone is a fun and entertaining character.

In my opinion, in the Deathly Hallows Harry is trying to show leadership on the hunt for horcruxes. Ron and Hermione are trying to help him, but they keep on disagreeing on decisions. Harry is trying to lead the trio to the right places but wherever they go there is trouble. Everything is getting out of hand, and meanwhile, Voldemort is getting closer to something he needs desperatey.
ReplyDeleteI think Hiccup is brave and clever, because he takes on the whole dragon army. And he tricks the dragons in the cave to think there is brain pickers so he can escape. Also he figured out how to find the dragon jewel, and figured out how to use the ticking thingy.

Jack was friends with August when no one else wanted to be his friend [except for summer]. He punched Julian in the face because he said that August was a freak. Now that's what I call nice. ReplyDeleteI think that Geronimo Stilton does not like going on the trips at first then he ends up liking it. So when he goes on a trip like when he went to boot camp he had fears like spiders, a fear of heights, elevators. But when he went to boot camp he made a friend who told him to look up and don't look down. When someone fell into the crazy river he dove down and saved him. And he came over his fear of spiders by squashing them. And he finally came over all of his fears.
ReplyDeleteThe book I read last night was Dork Diaries. I think Niki is a little weird. Niki has a friend named Macenzie. Niki hates Macenzie and they don't get along at all. She changes in the story by making friends. And she starts to fit in.
ReplyDeleteTonight I read the world record book. There was one man who juggled chainsaws 94 times! I think he is brave because he juggled chainsaws. He had the guts to do it. And he did it 94 times, not just a quick 1 2 3 there I juggled chainsaws but he did it 94 times! bye bye!

The book I read last night was called Just Grace and the Flower Girl Power. Just Grace needs to express her feelings towards Augustine Dupre. She needs to tell her that she is disappointed in not being the flower girl. For instance, when Augustine Dupre tells her that she can help the flower girl to do her best, she fake-smiles and nods her head. Also, when Mimi tells her she will be the best flower girl ever, she says she will try and nods her head. Also, when Sammy tells everyone she is the flower girl, and Just Grace says nothing.
ReplyDeleteThe book I read last night was My Life In Pink And Green. The girl Lucy in the book I think is smart. For instance in the book Lucy tells us that she likes to do makeup. What she does to take the makeup a little further she starts doing it for other people. Then she makes broshure to tell everyone about her makeup! That is why I think she is smart.

Last night I was reading Wonder struck. In my opinion this book is weird and awesome. I think it's weird because a young girl smokes cigarette. I also think it's weird because the girl wears his moms clothes. I think it's awesome because the main character is awesome.

For example, Greg wanted a dog and when he got the dog he gave it away the next week. Also, he wanted to go the short way, but his friend, Rowley, wanted to go the long way.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion Percy Jackson is very brave. I know this because he went to the Underworld to find the lightning bolt and keep the gods from war. He also tried to save his mom from the clutches of Hades. He also tries to save his friend from falling into Tartarus. He also save a bully from being killed by a bronze bull. I think if you read Percy Jackson you would think he was brave too.

ReplyDeleteIn my book Sheila the Great, in my opinon Shiila is too confedent. Like when she put toothpaste on the potty.But her plan backfired on here when she sat on it. Also she made a camp newspaper thinking it would be awesome. But instead she missed her friends, acadenly insulted people, and she said she would give some one a prize if they finished it. But in the end the prize was she gave away the newspaper. Another thing which supports my opinon is she lied to her friend Mouse thinking she would just be like okay. But the lie was to big and mouse found out. Also she thought that a hayride was going to be fun. Suprsingly the hayride was on the road in sleepy hallow which was told to have the headless horseman on it, there were errie sounds near a grave yard, somebody was telling scary stories, they almost got stuck in a thunder storm, and finally there was a full moon. I think Sheila will have hard times with this trate but will also overcome somethings.
ReplyDeleteI read the book "Gregor and the prophecy of bane." There are two characters named Zap and Photos Glow-Glow. I think that Zap and Photos Glow-Glow are very uncooperative and bad because when Gregor and his friends are in trouble, they do not help out. They are very greedy. They argue. And they are selfish. That is why I think that Zap and Photos Glow-Glow are bad and uncooperative.

ReplyDeleteOnce upon a time, I read a book called "Once Upon A Nightmare". This book is found in the teen section in the Brentwood library . This book is about Evil storybook characters try to ruin all happy endings. Can anyone save them? HELP ME !
